Our Local Staff Congress: Responsibility for Afghanistan and worldwide
On August 15, 2021, the Taliban took control of Kabul, Afghanistan. The German Bundeswehr had already hastily withdrawn from the country in June 2021. Since then, many former local staff of the German government are still in need and hoping for help from the West. Local staff in Mali, Niger, Sudan and Iraq are also in danger.
Our annual congress is aimed at former local staff of German authorities, institutions, non-governmental organizations and companies, also with the aim of incorporating the demands and concerns of former local staff into political work. Germany must ensure that the security of local staff is guaranteed in all countries where they work on behalf of our country.
